Welcome to the Infant and Junior School

The Infant and Junior School caters for 600 children of more than 50 nationalities between the ages of three and eleven. We are an authorised International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) school. For further information visit the IBO homepage www.ibo.org . Our curriculum is based on the PYP model and philosophy supported by elements of the National Curricula from England and Mexico.

In a typical classroom the children may be found working around tables or sitting on the carpet with the teacher. Many of the activities are collaborative with importance given to discussion and listening skills. Online multimedia computers serving each classroom and over 9000 books in the Infant and Junior library facilitate both research and inquiry. All classes – apart from Spanish – are given in English. Children arriving with limited English are provided with additional teaching time and support to ensure successful integration. From Kinder 3 all children have one class a day of Spanish at either beginners, intermediate or home language level. Our studies are recognised by the Secretaría de Educación Publica (S.E.P.). Families who require this should consult with our Director Técnico at the time of enrolment. Outside the classroom PE, swimming and music are taught by specialist teachers. Residential trips and a wide variety of afternoon activities complement the academic curriculum for children in Junior 2 and above.

We aim to provide a safe, stimulating and challenging environment where educational and social needs are met. Above all, our school is a place where children feel valued.
