For fifteen years Greengates has offered its senior year 4 and 5 students a balanced and demanding two year IGCSE course of study. Our programme uses the University of Cambridge syllabuses and currently offers twenty subjects covering all the major academic domains. The University of Cambridge were early pioneers of the “International” version of the General Certificate of Secondary Education which became the standard in Britain during the 1970s and thus we feel the courses Cambridge offers suits our student body very well.
The achievements of Greengates students in IGCSE examinations, past and present, have been very good indeed. Our overall subject pass rate is constantly high at around the 80% level and we exceed the world average pass rates in all but a few of the twenty subjects currently on offer. Such excellence is attributed to both the hard work of our students and to the dedication, experience and quality of our teaching staff.
As the IGCSE Coordinator at Greengates School I am fully committed to the course and the excellent preparation it provides for the future academic careers of our students. The foundation this course provides is invaluable in the further education of Greengates students many of whom achieve outstanding International Baccalaureate results and go on to attend many of the top Universities world wide.
