NATIONAL PROGRAMME

Students from Latin American countries, Spain, and Portugal register to take the National Programme. These students follow a slightly different course from the International Programme in order to revalidate their studies as required by their home country.

All Junior 1 to Upper 6 students, whether they are in the International or National Programmes, study Spanish at an appropriate level. In Junior 1 to Junior 5, the National Programme students study ciencias sociales in Spanish instead of social studies in English. In Form 1 to Form 3, the National Programme students study ciencias sociales in Spanish instead of world geography and history in English.

In Form 4, although there is no IGCSE qualification for ciencias sociales, one of the students’ option choices must be this subject. In Form 5 these students will go on to study Spanish Literature as an IGCSE subject as ciencias sociales is no longer required.

In Form 5 to Upper 6, students must take an UNAM class for one hour per week after school.
