In December last year, we received our third invitation to participate in a global Nord Anglia challenge for the opportunity to win a place on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to visit MIT.
Year 9 and Year 11 students were challenged to identify a local or global issue related to the environment, health, technology, education or another area impacting the world around them.
As part of the fourth Designing Solutions for a Better World Challenge, students submitted a poster and video explaining why their chosen issue matters to them, their community and the wider world, and why action is needed now.
Following an extensive judging process led by MIT, Zoe B. and Matias P. (Year 11) were selected as two of only 66 Nord Anglia students worldwide to take part in the MIT–Nord Anglia STEAM experience in Boston.

We are incredibly grateful to all the students who shared their creativity, ideas and vision throughout the challenge. The quality of the submissions was outstanding and reflected the curiosity, critical thinking and innovation we aim to nurture at Greengates.
This achievement is particularly meaningful for our community, as this marks the third consecutive year that Greengates has been invited to participate, and we are proud to be among the Nord Anglia schools with two selected students this year.
Congratulations to Zoe and Matias on this exceptional accomplishment. We look forward to seeing how they continue to question, create and contribute to a better future.
